KUNUNARRA TO KATHERINE N.T

We have been to Kununarra which i did enjoy a few days hanging out buy the pool taking it easy all this travelling and sightseeing can take it out of you. We went to to the markets i for this artist called Al Mason he does drawings of the boab tree which i now love but he gives them such creature i love them i bought two. And we have had Mason's and Ella's birthdays aswell.
We went out to the zebra rock place it's the only place that has this rock it is beautiful the kids loved feeding the fish. We spent 2 night at Lake Argyle.
We have eventually crossed over to the N.T we spent 2 nights in Katherine, we caught up with Rob and Lorraine that we meet in Whyalla which was great, we went to the hot springs it so nice he water is 32 all the time we spent a few hours there.
The kids had fun swinging of the rope with this little aboriginal boy.

Bungle Bungles

It was off to the Bungles, We stayed at Spring creek a road stop not far from the turn off to the Bungles, it was nice and shaded we were glad we got there early so we got a go camp site, there was no water in the river which was ok because that meant no croc's, there where some very large stray Brahman bulls, we went looking for fire wood and there was a big fella on the bank and Mason was wearing a red t-shirt so he took it off and hid it in his pants, i couldn't stop laughing.
The next day we were up at 5.30am to get an early start much to my disgust and it was raining, it take about 1 1/2 hours to get in there the road was just crappy,
The Bungles are very beautiful you just have to see for yourself it is quite unlike anything i have see yet, Cathedral gorge was huge and ecidna casem was amazing so many stones make up this massive mountain then to have this big split through the middle was hard to believe. Mum and Dad stayed with the vans as they have done it bfore, we had a great day we were all stuffed but we had a great camp fire a glass of wine what more can i ask for.

FITZROY CROSSING

Fitzroy Crossing
We have come to Fitzroy Crossing to go to Windjirna Gorge and to Tunnel creek.
The first day we went to Geikie Gorge we took a boat cruise up the river it was very pretty.
The next day we were up early as we had quite a drive ahead. we went to Windjana gorge first before it got to hot there is a bit of water in there at the moment there were quite a few freshwater croc’s we saw fruit bats and a goanna. From there we went to Tunnel creek we had a great time because you get wet, you have to climb over rocks through the water in the dark so you have to take torches. We climbed up into a cave off the side. The kids had a ball they where drenched. I fell over trying to get to take a photo before the kids disturbed the water, It was too funny Mark thought i was laying down to take the photo, don’t worry i got my picture. Mum & dad didn’t come with us today. We had a good but very exhausting day.

DREBY

DERBY
We headed to Derby just for the night to see the prison boab tree and Mark wanted to see the tried as they are the largest in Oz,” I found it boring”
I love the boab trees they are just gorges you don’t get tired of looking at them they are all so different, they can be up to 1000years old.
We have been doing a few road stop "camping as there isn’t much out here between places we like it because it cost nothing so to save a bit of money, which is good more to spend on other thing. The long drops are not the best but if you have to go then you have to go.

Broome

Broome
We had to camp on the side of the rd just outside of Broome because we had to line up early to get in line to get a site, so booking ahead is a good idea if you want to stay there this time of year.
Our park had a great pool the kids where very happy, we met up with our friends that we have been catching up with since Elliston S.A.
Broome was good we went to Malcolm Douglas’s croc farm, the museum, I took my sunset over Cable beach and we were lucky enough to be there for the stair case to the moon, I was beautiful. I really like Broome it grows on you it’s a bit crowded but we enjoyed it.

EIGHTY MILE BEACH

EIGHTY MILE BEACH
We have eventually made it to Eighty mile beach it was it is dirt road all the way in and not as nice as I thought it would be.
It had been hit by a cyclone last year so they have lost a lot of their trees and there palms. You can’t swim in the water, but it is a lovely beach just the same. We collected some shells mostly small as the oldies on their quad bikes get the big ones. It has the most beautiful sunsets.

Port Hedland

Port Hedland
When we where were in Mt Gambier we met a nice couple, Barb and Dave they live in Port Hedland for 7 months of the year and they invited us to stay with them while we were are there.
We had a nice 4 days we caught up on washing and school work. There isn’t much to do here. They manage a quarantine station for 7mths of the year so thye had plenty of room for us. There where no cows there at the time but we had millions of flys.
